Benefits of Membership

Location
With a history as one of Canada's oldest yacht clubs, KYC has a unique location in the heart of historic Kingston, minutes from downtown, City Park, Queen's University, the hospital complex, and a large residential community. It combines a quaint charm with superb wind and water conditions. In fact, KYC hosts numerous regattas, as well as events at the Canadian Olympic Regatta (CORK) every August. KYC was also the host club of the 1976 Olympic sailing events.

Sailing Events
Biweekly evening races and frequent weekend regattas are well-attended and have a friendly though competitive atmosphere. A number of our regular sailors are world champions in a variety of classes. It is usually easy to get a crewing position on race nights. Check out our racing schedule here. In addition, Community Club Members have access to free use of club boats, including five Sharks and an Albacore!

Social Events
From the summer barbeques to the children's Christmas party, frequent special events are held throughout the year. The regular fleet-sponsored TGIF's are well attended, and the club atmosphere is uniquely relaxed, friendly and informal. Check out this month's schedule of events here.

Sailing Instruction
KYC is renowned in Eastern Lake Ontario for its successful Learn-To-Sail programs for both children and adults.

Reciprocal Club Memberships
