Orange Bowl Regatta
Robert Davis won the 26 boat Laser class at the 50th annual Orange Bowl regatta last week.
Robert won in a convincing style wining 3 races and never finishing out of the top 6.KYC was also represented in the 29er and 420 class.

Mooring Applications
Mooring applications have been sent out and are due January 15th with deposit. If you have not received your application or would like to apply for a mooring this summer please contact the office.

Quarterly Log Submissions
The next edition of the log will be published on January 9th.
The log is a great opportunity to post longer articles that are outside the scope of the Knotmeter.The content of the log is largely fueled by member submissions. If you have anything you would like to include please submit to manager@kingstonyachtclub.com
Submissions will be accepted up until January 3rd at 1200hrs.
Speaker's Series - Peter C. Newman
January 13th - 3:30PM
Partridge RoomPlease join us as Peter C. Newman tells tales about the boats he has sailed, the Prime Ministers he has dissected and the Canadian business establishment he invented.
Mr. Newman is the controversial author of 25 books that have sold over 2.5 million copies. Peter has set new standards in Canadian political and business writing and reporting. He was editor in chief of both the Toronto Star and MacLean’s Magazine, has been awarded seven honourary doctorate degrees, including Queen’s University and Royal Military College where he now lectures. Mr. Newman holds a full captain’s rank in the Royal Canadian Navy Reserves and was awarded two Orders of Canada. He has sailed the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Hay Bay. Peter is currently writing a history of the United Empire Loyalists.

Sail Canada Rolex Sailor of the Year Awards Dinner

Attire: Business Suit & Tie / Cocktail DressThis will be a big night for our club as we receive the "Regatta of the Year Award" for the great job we all did hosting the 2012 Shark World Championship. Also, Junior Past Commodore Paul Davis is one of three finalists for the Sail Canada Rolex Sailor of the Year Award and Ali ten Hove will receive the Bill Burke Memorial award.
