| SEPTEMBER 30: CHASE RACE / ABLE SAIL FUNDRAISER

This race starts with boats giving up their handicap time at the start and (in theory) all finishing at the same time. It's a fun way to end the racing season. For race details, refer to the (online/printed) Sailors Handbook. Individual boat start times are listed there. There will be a 80/20 draw after the race ($20/person, with 80% of proceeds going to Able Sail charity and 20% to winner of the draw) and a "bribe bucket". Bribes will allow racers to improve their finish time by paying $5/min. Both types of donation are optional but welcome! There will be prizes for the winners of the modified/fun race. The usual trophy for the real "uncorrected" Chase Race will be presented at Awards Night.

| NOVEMBER 4: Awards Banquet

Please submit paper nominations for any of the Special Awards by Friday Oct 13 to the Race Office or by email to race@kingstonyachtclub.com. Nomination forms are available at the bar and on the SAILING / KEELBOAT RACING" website page.

Sargent Stripes Stout

This 7.9% Stout pours Opaque black with a thick tan foam. Roast barley, mocha and a touch of molasses are evident in the aroma. The flavour features intense dark, roasted malt elements, a medium bitterness, full body and a light fruitiness. The long warm finish offers residual dark chocolate and espresso notes.

Food Pairing

Sargent Stripes pairs well with Steak with green peppercorns, Dry-rubbed Jamaican jerk chicken, blackened fish tacos or rich chocolate mousse.

| CORK Fall Regatta

Outstanding record breaking July like weather for the CORK Fall Regatta this past weekend. 240 competitors, 4 countries, 2 days of racing, plenty of sun, record temperatures with the humidex well into the 30s, champagne conditions on Saturday, light shifty breeze on Sunday. This was definitely a fall regatta to remember!

A giant thank you to all of the volunteers, athletes, coaches and parents who helped make this regatta a huge success!

Congratulations to the big winners:
1st place in the 49er FX for Ali ten Hove & Mariah Millen KYC/RCYC
2nd place in the i420 for Patrick Wilson & Ari Moffat KYC/RNSYS
3rd place in the Laser Standard for Ross Murdoch KYC

For the other KYC sailors this was a great opportunity to sail against the top teams from Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia for these Ontario Championships. Many new teams, new boats and new skills learned this past weekend.
