It's time for another edition of our oh-so-popular "TGIF Sail!"
For the uninitiated:
Don't have a boat and want to get out sailing? Sign up and we will make it happen.
Have a boat and want some company? Sign up and we will find you crew.
Boats will leave the harbour around 6PM for a 1-2hr sail.
Food and beverages in the clubhouse after.
It's a great opportunity for members to make new friends at the Club!

Eastern Ontario Shark Championships
July 5-6 @ Kingston Yacht Club
It's not to late to register your boat!
KYC is home to Eastern Ontario Shark Championships this weekend. We expect a higher than normal usage of the Club and facilities during this time. Specifically, food and beverage operations will either be delayed or shut down on Saturday evening in order to accommodate the Shark dinner.
Glenn Singleton has officially begun his new position at Brockville Country Club. We wish him all the best, and thank him for his service over the last four seasons. We also thank the members in advance for their patience and understanding during this transitional period.
The Annual Club Cruise to Jemmett's Landing is July 19th.
The cruise is centred on the race for the Partridge Bowl.
A Le Mans start coupled with pursuit race format means that the first racer to arrive at the property is the winner.
It's always an exciting event and, then, there's the party that follows...
Staff will be on-site to cook,
the trophy will be suitably filled and shared.
This special event will require that the dock and the mooring balls
be available for participants: rafting will be necessary.
Others are asked to leave the dock by noon on Saturday, July 19.
It should again be available for general usage
for the evening and night of July 20.
Come and take part in the Cruise!
Paddleboards, Kayaks and Trampolines
KYC has purchased paddleboards, kayaks and a water trampoline for member use. Paddleboards and kayaks are in a 'testing' phase with limited access. We hope to offer full access over the next few weeks.
A white marker has been placed at the proposed trampoline site off the T-Dock. We encourage members, while entering and exiting the harbour, to consider the location and provide any feedback they may have.
We ask that when using the firepit at Jemmett's to please make sure you have completely extinguished your fires before departure.
New racing boats (and crew) expecting to join the PHRF fleet soon: J24 "Obsession" from RMC and C&C 25 "Cat's Paws"... welcome!
ALTS graduates: we really want to get you into weeknight and/or weekend racing. See next 2 items...
Crew/Boats Bank: currently 10 people seeking boats and 1 boat seeking crew. We need more boats! Details at "Crew/Boat Bank" KYC web site page. Send updates to email@example.com.
"On the Water" guarantee: show up between 5:00 - 5:30 pm, put your name on white board near the bar and we'll get you on either a
racing boat or the race committee boat!
Food & Beverage Update
Reminder to all Cottage Friday credit holders, July 7th is the last day to use up your credits for the most recent Cottage Friday event.
Kingston Yacht Club is proud to announce that we will expanding our selection of draft beer starting next week. In order to install the new equipment, the lower bar will be closed on Monday July 7th until mid-afternoon. The restaurant will be open as normal on Monday, with drinks being served from the upstairs bar. We appreciate your patience during these brief renovations and look forward to serving you our new draft selections.
Due to a lack of interest KYC's lobster night, originally scheduled for Saturday July 12, will be postponed until further notice. We will reschedule and update you once a new date has been settled on.
KYC is offering weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday, every weekend, from 10:30am to 3pm. Come down to your club to try some of the tasty selections from the brunch menu.
