Women In WindCorrection

In last week's edition we incorrectly stated that the Women in Wind AGM was set for October 15 (tonight).

The correct date is Wednesday, October 21st at 5:30PM. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Harbour

| Gas Dock Hours

A Reminder that the Gas Dock is now closed on Saturdays.

Hours of Operation »

| Wind and Weather A reminder to check on your boat.

As we are getting into the cooler weather, and potentially windier days, we just want to remind members to ensure your boat (and neighbours boat) are secure. We generally take a daily trip around the harbour, however it would be fantastic to ask for your assistance.

| Haulout Weekend & QST Regatta

Queen's Sailing Team will be hosting a regatta at KYC the weekend of Haul Out (Oct 31-Nov 1). We recognize this weekend is a stressful time for members. A planning group has been struck to coordinate all aspects of the regatta to minimize disruption.

All Haul Out activities will take priority over the regatta. We will communicate more information as we get closer to the Haul Out date. We thank the members for their patience and understanding.

| Attention Dinghy Owners

We kindly ask all dry mooring holders to remove your boat from the KYC property by Sunday October 25th at the latest. Your cooperation is necessary to help place the keelboat cradles on the breakwall and boat yard prior to Haul Out.

If you have thoughts on any of these topics please talk to your fleet captain (or a member of the committee) or email to race@kingstonyachtclub.ca. If you are interested in helping on the committee, please email ken.martin@kingstonyachtclub.ca.

| Clubhouse UpdateFacility Improvements, Keep the Club warm!

Front Step Construction

Construction is nearly complete on this project. The front entrance should open again for Friday dinner service.

Ladies Washroom Reno

Starting November 9th, we will be remodeling the ladies washroom. The facilities will be “out of order” for about 10 days – two weeks. We are in the process of cleaning up the Able Sail office/Washroom for member usage during this time. We appreciate your patience during this long overdue project.

Keep the Club Warm

As we move into the cooler days, we just wanted to inform the membership that we ask you not to use the doors to enter or exit in the dining room, but instead please use the front doors. We are simply trying to ensure the members who are dining are not having their dining experience interrupted by a not so nice “cool breeze.” We appreciate your cooperation with this.
