We have new burgees on the front of the clubhouse built by our Bosun and Club Attendants!

| Updates from the General Manager

Covid-19

Keep up the great work Kingston YC! The number of cases in our community are dropping because we are all keeping our distance and masking up indoors!

With this hot weather, we have so many members enjoying their memberships - swimming, paddling, sailing and enjoying our dockside patio! All the more reason to be vigilant!

Financial Impact of Covid

Many businesses and social enterprises are struggling from a loss of revenue this year. KYC is no exception. We are watching every penny and I would kindly ask you to please remit your payment as soon as you receive your bill - preferably by an e-transfer to assist with cash flow. We will be sending these out next week.

Parking

Please be sure you have a parking sticker on your vehicle or it will be towed away. We are now checking for non-members who are parking in our lot. If you are planning to stay for a longer period of time, please try to use the lot instead of the spaces nearer to the club.

Jemmett's Landing

A message to all members about Jemmett’s landing from the Committee. Our wonderful offsite property is open and ready for visitors. We encourage all members to use the property either by road or by boat, but please remember that only full family or full singe membership have mooring rights (Dock or mooring balls) associated with their membership. All others that wish to moor must pay the extra fee that was voted in at the last Annual General Meeting of $225.00. A deal for all those who wish to do so. Please enjoy our property and let us know if there are any items that need tending to.”

The Partridge Bowl - July 18th

Speaking of Jemmett's...
The annual race to our Wolfe Island property - Jemmett's Landing will not be lost to our pandemic. A modified sailing program and delicious lunch will be enjoyed by all with the required physical distancing in place. Mark your calendars and call Brandon to reserve your lunch

Brunch, Brunch, Brunch!

Our chef's are very excited to bring you our weekend Brunch menu! - Yes Egg's Bene is back! The patio opens on the weekend at 11. Please call to reserve a table. Seating is limited.

Easter Seals Harbour Sailing Pageant - July 25th

Please join KYC as we help Easter Seals organize a very special Kingston Harbour Sailing Pageant on Saturday July 25th. This will be a great day to get out on the water for an uplifting display of sail and put our financial support behind an organization in our own community that helps kids with physical disabilities succeed! To register for the pageant please go to:

KYC Apparel

Coming soon - An online KYC Store! I received a few excellent suggestions for Kingston YC Apparel and as a result, an order has been placed for new visor and big floppy hats. But have you always wanted your favorite trucker hat with a KYC burgee on it? - Or maybe a BBQ apron, a vest, jacket or hoodie? or even socks? Please send me your fresh ideas on what kind and style of KYC apparel you might like to wear to proudly display the burgee and our love for our little piece of paradise!

KYC Academy

Our Head Instructor Rachel Harris will be interviewed on CBC Radio on Tuesday morning at 8am to talk about our unique online Sailing Academy. Again KYC is making headlines across the country. A huge congratulations to the LTS Committee and our coaches for putting this together and giving our community such a wonderful sailing opportunity.

Race Team Training

Under the guidance of Sail Ontario, the Government of Ontario and public health, our athletes will take to the water to complement their online training with on-water training from our talented coaches. We can't wait to see our future Olympic athletes out there on the water next week.

Thank you,
Daniel
