| Beer of the Week

Farm Table Pils is brewed in the style of North-German Pilsners. It has a herbal and hoppy aroma with some grainy, malty notes. A refreshing hop bite dominates the flavour, which is counterbalanced by clean malt sweetness. The finish is quick and dry.

We also have Muskoka Brewery’s Winterweiss back on tap. This German style dunkelweizen (dark wheat beer) is deep brown with notes of clove and banana. Muskoka Winterweiss partners the yeast and wheat character of a hefeweizen with the malty richness of a Munich dunkel. Enjoy it now, while the weather is still chilly and before its gone for another year!

| Wine of the Month

We will be featuring a new wine this month from Italy. The 2010 Poderi Angelini Primitivo di Manduria is from the Puglia region in southern Italy, which forms the heal of the boot of Italy. This is a well-aged full bodied wine with mellow tannins, and is somewhat similar in style to an Amarone. The palate features notes of dark berries, smoked meat and leather. This is a great wine on its own or paired with cured meats, strong cheeses or a steak. Ask your server to try a glass.

| Volunteers Needed

Planning for 2016 regattas at our club is going well. To provide the best events we need lots of volunteers - people to work on water and to help ashore.
The 2016 events are:
July 1 - 3 - Shark North American Championship
July 9 - 10 - Viper 640 Canadian Championship
July 29 - 31 - The Annual KYC Skiff Regatta (29er, 49er, 49erFX)
September 10, 11 - IOM (International One Metre) Eastern Canadian Championship
September 10 - 17 - Soling World Championship
More information about these events is posted to the KYC website under the Sailing/Racing/Regattas tab.

If you'd like to come and play, send your name to Greg McNab manager@kingstonyachtclub.ca. We'll get back to you about scheduling.

Everyone is welcome. For new people we'll provide training. For those who have been involved previously, we'll just provide the usual fun.

Launch 2016

As luck would have it…. we launch late, into what appears to be an early spring.
Launch 2016  is Wednesday, May 4, followed by masts up May 5.
Launch will commence at 0800 after we down a hearty breakfast.

It seems logical that we start with the yard, and launch in the reverse order of last autumn's haul. (this to be finalized)
Weather permitting and volunteers abound, I expect launch to go quickly, and should there be any left over time, perhaps we can step a few masts.

CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS!
Wednesday IS a workday for most, but I am still  asking for a full slate of volunteers, AND that they stay as long as possible. Many hands makes for lighter- and faster work.
I will be sending individual emails to those who are usually help out, but I am asking still, that volunteers email both me and Greg to confirm their help.

Cheers,
Peter Cohrs,
Rear Commodore
