LAUNCH COVID-19 PROTOCOL

Crew of 8 volunteers, timer, crane director (CD), liners bow and stern (LB, LS), four slingers (S1, S2, S3, S4). Owner's Team (OT) assumed to be from same household, or otherwise safe to work in close proximity to one another. OT recruited by owner, not part of launch crew. Crane operator in cab. Additional volunteer in whaler for yard launches.

Timer will track schedule and monitor personnel and OT. Timer will halt operations any time personnel or OT are out of position in a way that could result in physical distance being reduced to less than 2m. Other volunteers or OT may call a halt at any time.
1. Before crane moves to area, preferably previous day, OT prep boat with fenders both sides, bow, stern lines, clear sling markings on topsides with green masking tape, and retreat. No OT within 10m of boat during slinging. No OT from any boat within 60m of crane during lifts. No others within 100m of crane at any time during launch operations.
2. Slings already on crane hooks. S1 captures two slings, wraps one on post at near end of cradle, proceeds with other sling to far end of cradle. Crane lowers for slack on slings.
3. S2 retrieves near sling end, S1 and S2 pass ends under boat to at least centreline and retreat to hold mid-sling against hull for control. Liners, S3 and S4 remain clear.
4. S3 and S4 retrieve ends.
5. Crane lowers hooks to head level. S1 and S2 stabilize their hooks close to boat, well fore and aft so unsecured hooks descend outboard amidships.
6. S3 retrieves hook, clips in sling and retreats.
7. S4 retrieves hook, clips in sling and sling tensioning proceeds as normal. Slingers remain by their slings.
8. Liners move to their lines and take control of boat position, boat lifts several inches, but does not move. CD blows whistle / sounds horn for all OT to retreat to 60m.
9. Slingers retreat ensuring they remain more than 2m from path of liners.
10. Lift and move boat as usual, nobody on dock except liners.
11. Lower boat to near waterline, still supported in slings. (Assisted by whaler crew if present.) Liners secure boat to dock and retreat to shore. (Whaler crew retreats aft.)
12. OT boards (via bow of whaler if present) and checks boat, signals crane to lower and releases slings on one side as directed by CD. No other personnel on dock until boat leaves. No crew from OT leaves dock without clearance from CD.
13. Crane lifts slings to SL1. Repeat process.

MASTING COVID-19 PROTOCOL

1. Before crane moves to area, preferably previous day, OT prep mast with lift line and three long lines attached above the gooseneck to provide remote stabilization. All masts must be rigged to hoist vertically stable, with attachment above centre of gravity.
2. Lift mast with OT hooking line and handling mast butt until vertical, with butt off the ground.
3. OT return to boat and wait on outboard side, at least 2m from dock.
4. S1, S2, S3 take up stabilization lines in turn, maintaining 2m distance.
5. Move mast with S1 proceeding to end of finger dock, S2 and S3 on shore, approximately 45 degrees port and starboard from bow.
6. S1/2/3 guide mast butt to OT at partners/step.
7. S1/2/3 assist with positioning during mast insertion and stepping.
8. OT manage shrouds, furler, etc. without assistance.
9. OT declare completion, move to outboard side of boat, S1/2/3 throw lines aboard and retreat.
10. Crane lowers hook to deck for detachment by OT. No other personnel on dock until boat leaves. No crew from OT leaves dock without clearance from CD.

See you there!
