Eastern Ontario Shark Championships

Another great regatta put on by some very dedicated volunteers last weekend. Friday, KYC was once again home to 20-some Sharks and their crew. The weather conditions could not have been more perfect for this class.

Special recognition goes out to Lana Butler and her team of volunteers, Ross Cameron, Racing PRO, the KYC staff, all our valued sponsors, Geoff Webster the official photographer, the City of Kingston for their support, and of course our membership for being so welcoming and accommodating to the visiting clubs.

Congratulations to Peter Van Rossem and crew of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Mike Hull and crew of Dartos, and Steve Raddon and crew of Shadfly for placing first, second, and seventh in the regatta!

Full results can be found here.

Please include the number in your party, dietary restrictions or meal choice inclinations (so we have a rough idea of what to pack!).

Hope to see you there!

Partridge Bowl

The Annual Club Cruise to Jemmett's Landing is July 19th.
The cruise is centred on the race for the Partridge Bowl.

A Le Mans start coupled with pursuit race format means that the first racer to arrive at the property is the winner.
It's always an exciting event and, then, there's the party that follows...

Staff will be on-site to cook,
the trophy will be suitably filled and shared.

This special event will require that the dock and the mooring balls
be available for participants: rafting will be necessary.
Others are asked to leave the dock by noon on Saturday, July 19.

It should again be available for general usage
for the evening and night of July 20.

Come and take part in the Cruise!

Emirates Team New Zealand seemed to be unbeatable in the 2013 America’s Cup and yet Oracle managed to pull ahead to victory. Steve Killing will be sharing his stories and photos of  this event as a member of the New Zealand design team. The connection between his design of Fred Eaton’s Toronto-based C-Class catamaran and the America’s Cup is a fascinating story of being in the right place at the right time.
