Able Sail Kingston Awarded Grant from Community Foundation
Able Sail Kingston has been awarded a grant for $4,000 to adapt the recently donated Sonar for integration into their learn to sail program. The funding comes from the the Assante Financial Management Fenlon Division Fund and the Community Fund. This was an extra special honour, as the Assante Financial made the donation in Peter Hartel's memory.

The fudns will be used to purchase custom seating: a “lazy susan” seat for the forward section that allows a crew member to adjust the lines and transfer back and forth; a transfer bench and overhead bar in the aft section that allows the skipper to helm and to transfer from side to side; seats, cushions, and seat belts to be installed along the side of the boat for non-crew passengers.

Online "Virtual Trophy Room" now available

The Heritage Committee is pleased to announce that the long-awaited "Virtual Trophy Room" is now available at the KYC website. After three years of work, Club trophies may be viewed on line, each with its story and award recipients over the years. Some of the trophies go back to 1895 and many are works of art in their own right.

Click here for the Virtual Trophy Room or visit our website and select it from the "Sailing" menu under trophies.

Please take a look and let us know what you think at archivist@kingstonyactclub.ca

We have a new beer from Beau's on tap this week, Dial Z for Zwickel. This amber lager is well balanced with a nice malt body and a subtle hop finish. Quantities are limited, so come down to the club to try one before its gone.
