Session IPA 4% ABV

Good Time Session I.P.A. delivers fruity hop aromas and full flavour in an easy-to-enjoy light ale. Brewed with organic nelson sauvin and centennial hops, the recipe adds wheat and oats to barley malts for a satisfying and uncompromising craft beer experience.

History and Style

A session I.P.A. is a lower-alcohol expression of an India Pale Ale that highlights approachable hop aroma and flavour, without intense bitterness. The hop-derived citrus and tropical fruit notes lead into a fuller mouthfeel than might otherwise be expected from a light ale.

Tasting Notes

Good Time Session IPA pours gold with white foam. The aroma offers a combination of citrus, gooseberry, pineapple flavours and aromas. The flavour is juicy with subtle hop bitterness. The body is light and refreshing. The finish is clean and lingeringly hoppy.

| Canada 2019 Blind Fleet Racing World Championship

Calling all Kingston Yacht Club Members!

The organizing committee is working hard to make this regatta all that it can be for racers and spectators alike. We are inviting all KYC members to become involved with this event. As hosts for the Blind Fleet Racing World Championships from September 1-8, 2019, we will need your help to fill in some gaps.

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas; billeting either on boats or in your home, volunteer assistance both on and off the water with - registering, event management and race committee, spectator or media boats, sponsorship or donation support. Taxable receipts are available.

Competitors from Europe, the United States, South America and New Zealand are expected - some 25 teams in all!

We also want to send a huge thank you out to all who attended our Launch Event on May the 10th, both in body or remotely via the live Facebook feed. If you missed the event, please check it out through the link below on the event website.

The club is looking for any members willing to open their doors to visiting sailors during our busy regatta season this summer. The dates of the regattas are:
9er Canadians: 2 - 4 August 2019
Youth Championships: 12 - 16 August 2019
CORK: 16 - 20 August 2019
4.7 World Championships: 16 -23 August 2019

As we nearing the end of the May keelboat racing series, the current leaders are:
PHRF 1: 1st Long Time Running (Hull), Touch of Class (Cameron), Tantrim (Sentesy);

PHRF 2: 1st Teyma (Weguelin), 2nd Selene (Vines), 3rd Twist My Arm (Wilson); Sharks: 1st Shanti (Boyd), 2nd JLS (Van Rossem) and 3rd Shadfly (Raddon).
Only 2 more races to go...

Pigeon Island, our 1st long distance of the season is this Saturday. Skippers meeting at 0930 and first signal at 1030. See details in the Sailors Handbook. After that come the Single/Double Handed Race on June 15 and the Harbour Race on June 22.

We will be implementing an online Crew Bank in the near future. If you are a crew looking for a boat or a skipper looking for crew, please email your details to the Race Office.

Copies of the 2019 Sailors Handbook are available behind the bar, in the Race Office, and online.

There are still some Race Committee duty lottery slots available, mostly in July and August. Please sign up soon; you will assigned duty slots at the end of the month. The duty schedule is available online at "Sailing / Race Committee Duties". Email your requests for duty to the Race Office at race@kingstonyachtclub.com.

Last year, many racers found raceqs.com to be entertaining & instructive. It's a way to record your GPS race track during the race and then replay with the tracks from other competitors after the race. iPhone or Android apps are available to do the tracking and the website provides nice viewing, with a variety of visualisation options. It highlights what you and others did right (and sometimes wrong) out there on the race course. Try it out! The more boats that participate the better. We'll start showing the action on screen near the bar after racing...
