Special Announcements

| COVID-19

Dear Friends and Members,

The threat from Covid-19 virus is currently low in the general Canadian population according to our government sources, but has been recently been upgraded to a Pandemic in the global environment. As family at KYC, we can "do our bit” to reduce the likelihood of infecting one another. Please be aware that your KYC staff and Board of Directors are monitoring the situation, stepping up cleaning/disinfecting and may implement additional measures to create social distance if the conditions warrant.

Below are links to OFFICIAL information sources regarding the Covid-19 virus. I encourage your to dig deep into these information sources and conduct your activities with increased prudence.

Social media is a poor source for accurate information about this pandemic.

The best way to protect yourself and your friends is through prevention.

• wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
• sneeze or cough into your sleeve, or a tissue, NOT into your hands
• avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth,
• clean objects and surfaces that alot of people touch, such as doorknobs, phones and TV remotes with regular household cleaner.
• do not share personal items that come in contact with saliva
• avoid contact with people who are sick
• stay home if you are sick
• anyone who is compromised, or suspects being compromised, should stay home and practice social distance (stay home!), visit your doctor.

| Featured Beer

Strong Patrick

Irish-style Red Ale 6.1% ABV

Strong Patrick is an organic version of the classic style from the Emerald Isle. it is luscious and malty, with toasty caramel and coffee. A portion of the ale has been aged in Jameson® Irish Whiskey casks, then reintroduced to add a rich accent of wood and warmth to this year’s blend.

History and Style

Strong Patrick is our version of the classic style from the Emerald Isle. It was first brewed in 2012 for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at Beau’s Brewery, and has been a returning seasonal favourite ever since. Its red hue is the result of the addition of organic roasted barley to recipe, which also includes organic Aramis hops and Irish ale yeast.

Tasting Notes

Strong Patrick pours a brilliant red with a creamy head. Its aroma conjures notes of caramel, whiskey, oak and malts. It has a malty backbone, with a touch of toasty caramel and vanilla, and a mild bitterness to round and balance. It finishes rich and warm.
