Special Annoucements

| Updates from the General Manager

Covid-19

With over 36 cases of Covid-19 in Kingston, I would remind everyone to please keep your 2 meter distance from each other at all times, and wear a mask if you think you might have to bend that rule. With so many people enjoying our facilities, not to mention the best patio in Kingston, it is easy to let one's guard down and put our staff and other members at risk. Thank you for your efforts in keeping us all safe!

Trouble in the Kitchen

Our roof-mounted exhaust fan motor went down last week leaving our kitchen without an essential exhaust hood. It's an expensive and tricky spot to work so we thank you for your patience as we try to find the best solution. In the meantime, our talented food and beverage team are very creative in finding ways to keep as much of the menu available to you. We now have a summer kitchen! A big thank you to volunteer extrodinare Matt White for helping with all the assocaited IT requirements for the move.

The Tent

Led by our fearless bosun Ben, ten of us wrestled the tent to the ground as it was preparing to launch in some very high winds last week. Our new interim facility manager Tristsan Story is working on the repairs so we can get it back out there for you.

The Partridge Bowl - July 18th

The annual race to our Wolfe Island property - Jemmett's Landing will not be lost to our pandemic. In just two weeks, a modified sailing program and BBQ will be enjoyed by all with the required physical distancing in place. Mark your calendars!

Easter Seals Harbour Sailing Pageant - July 25th

Please join KYC as we help Easter Seals organize a very special Kingston Harbour Sailing Pageant on Saturday July 25th. This will be a great day to get out on the water for an uplifting display of sail and put our financial support behind an organization in our own community that helps kids with physical disabilities succeed! To register for the pageant please go to:

Volunteer Opportunities

The strategic course for KYC is laid and navigated by your Board and executed by Staff. But the powerful wind in the sails comes from our dedicated volunteers. To help organize the many things that need to be done around our club we will be launching a new volunteer opportunities sign up platform in coming weeks. But in the meantime, please come and see a Board member or myself if you have something you would like to get started. Does anyone like to paint?

KYC Apparel

Have you always wanted your favorite trucker hat with a KYC burgee on it? - Or maybe a BBQ apron, a vest, jacket or hoodie? or even socks? Please send me your fresh ideas on what kind and style of KYC apparel you might like to wear to proudly display our love for our amazing Club.

Thank you,
Daniel
